Real people, who’ve been where you are.
Academia Wiz exists because talented researchers shouldn’t have to navigate the unwritten rules of international publishing alone.
Academia Wiz was founded by Keren Segal, drawing on years of experience across academia and scholarly publishing as a researcher, editor, and educator.
Along the way, one thing became clear: the researchers who struggle to get published are rarely lacking in talent or ideas. They’re navigating a system whose expectations are exacting, unfamiliar, and often unspoken – and they do far better with an experienced person alongside them.
What We Believe
- You’re capable. Our role isn’t to fix deficient work, it’s to help strong researchers meet the demanding, often invisible standards of international publishing.
- The hard part is human-dependent. Structuring an argument, designing rigorous research, knowing what a field wants, keeping going when a draft stalls – these take judgment and relationship, not just digital tools.
- Care and candour. Honest feedback, given kindly. We tell you what will actually help, not just what’s easy to hear.
Why This Matters Now
AI can produce a fluent draft in seconds. What it can’t do is develop your research judgment, navigate the conventions of your field, or support your work to be accepted by a professional editor. This human work is exactly what we do, and now it’s more valuable, not less.
